Even more unfortunate is that too many people still believe that mass reciprocal linking will increase your rankings. It never does and causes more damage than good. Same as buying hundreds of high PR links all in the same month - that brings you above the radar and can potentially ahrma site as well.
A good inbound link should be relevant to your content or at least in a parallel market. There should be an even mix of links, buy them all at high PR sites and you run the risk of being found out. Some reciprocation is good - especially if its authority stuff. |

But mostly - eugh - submitting silly forum posts, writing irritating reciprocal link begs, entering directory details AGAIN, aricles, trying to network with people with strange intests that happen to match your clients on social networks... Tonight I hate it all. |

| OnlineDatingCode | May 31, 12:34am | link building is a pain in the butt. it does help in increasing your rankings, but indirectly. i believe link building is a sort of advertisement that brings in unique visitors to your site. having said that, when your unique visitor count increases, it does increase your page rank and so it is quite important even though it is a pain everywhere.
anyone of you has an easy way out? it really takes too much time to drop your links in forums and such... |
