i am planning to start a web directory.. in this directory listings will be of sites ,say abcd.com is given as a listing. when a user clicks on the same, i want the abcd.com site to open below a frame of our site. i know it is possible..but i dont know how search engines will take this . i heard google does not like this kind of forwarding. Pl advise |

But the idea is not so good, not for a directory..people usually submit sites to directories for links, not for traffic, and in this way you won't be pointing to the sites in the directory, but to pages of your own directory. why would you want to do such a thing? |

First since you're not actually linking to the real sites there's absolutely no reason for anyone to want to be listed in your directory. Second placing someone else's content in a frame on your site amounts to theft of their content.
If you were to build a truly good directory, which by the way will be extremely difficult, people will remember your name and your logo. Forcing it on them will do more to hurt your brand than help it. |
